Workshop Goals
Session 1 Welcome, introductions, workshop orientation - Take Pre-Assessment - Present goals for the workshop - Present and discuss the essential question - Introduce action plan Materials: Action Steps template Session 2 Carousel Brainstorming Activity Objective: Participants share successes and barriers that they encountered when trying to address the diverse needs of all learners; this establishes common background knowledge from which to draw upon during the day. Materials: Chart paper, markers Session 3 Jigsaw Activity: UDL and DI Objective: Participants become experts in one area relating to Universal Design for Learning and Differentiated Instruction, share their expertise with others, and finish by relating new information to their current practice. Materials: Jigsaw Activity Directions Facing the Challenge Questions Chart paper, markers, pen/pencils and/or post it notes Session 4 Reflection, Discussion, and Sharing Objective: Participants will discuss and share ideas about applying Universal Design for Learning and Differentiated Instruction to their classroom practice. - Address the Essential Question: How can I incorporate UDL and Differentiated Instruction into my practice? Materials: Reflection Template Session 5 Make a Plan & Use Your Tools Objective: Participants explore new UDL resources and tools and incorporate these into an action plan. Materials: Action Steps template Session 6 Wrap Up & Evaluations Objective: Assess effectiveness of workshop. - Take Post-Assessment Materials: Workshop Evaluation Form |
